Affidavit for OCI application

An Indian man who had been born in India needed to swear an affidavit as part of the process in his application for an OCI card.

He had been born in Moga in the Punjab, India in 1956, and had subsequently travelled to the UK on his mother’s passport.  As was usual at the time, he had no birth certificate and had never been issued with an Indian passport, as his parents had claimed British Naturalisation for him while he was still a child.  In applying for his OCI card he had to explain why he did not have an Indian passport.  I drafted an affidavit explaining the background which he then swore in my presence.  He then presented it with his successful application and received his OCI without any problems.
